Major fire on Park Street in Kolkata, many feared trapped

A major fire on Park Street in Kolkata. The fire broke out in a multi-stories building called Stephen Court which houses the iconic Flury’s confectionery house and a music store named Music World and several other offices. Several people are trapped inside the building.

Delhi Budget 2010 Highlights

The Delhi Budget Highlights are given below. 1. Price increase in LPG Cylinder. 2. Rs 40 subsidy drawn on Gas. 3. High-end Mobiles and Luxury Watches will now cost more. 4. Value Added Tax (VAT) on diesel increased from 12.5 per cent to 20 per cent. 5. Rs 4,224 crore for the transport sector and Rs 1,443 crore for health.

Dearness Allowance March 2010 – Increase of 8% announced

The Central Government today announced the Dearness Allowance of 8%. If this increase is included the DA will increase to 35%. The calculations for the DA are dependent on the All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100.
